CHICKEN-LIKE SEASONING
Mix well is a small bowl
1 cup nutritional yeast flakes (sold
at health food stores)
2 teaspoons onion powder
1 teaspoon onion salt
1/2 teaspoon sage
1/2 teaspoon thyme
1/2 teaspoon marjoram
3 tablespoons parsley flakes
1 1/2 teaspoons garlic salt
1 1/2 teaspoons celery salt
1/4 teaspoon savory
Store: in an airtight jar.
TACO SEASONING
2 tablespoons onion powder
3 tablespoons paprika
2 tablespoons salt
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1/4 cup California chili
Mix together and store in airtight container

HOMEMADE CHILI POWDER
2 tablespoons paprika
1 tablespoon sweet basil
1 tablespoon dried bell pepper
1 tablespoon parsley flakes
2 bay leaves
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon ground oregano
1/2 teaspoon ground dill seed, or 1 teaspoon dill
seed
1/2 teaspoon savory
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Process all ingredients in a blender until a fine
powder. Store in an airtight container. Yields
1/4 cup or 12 servings.
HOMEMADE MUSTARD
½ cup Simple Mayonnaise
1 tablespoon finely chopped parsley
2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon grated onion
1 teaspoon turmeric
1/8 teaspoon garlic salt
1/8 teaspoon onion salt
1/8 teaspoon paprika
Process all ingredients in a blender
until very smooth. Keep refrigerated in
an airtight container. Yields 2/3 cup or
11 tablespoons.
SIMPLE MAYONNAISE
1/2-brick regular tofu plus 3/4 cup water
1 cup raw cashew nuts
1/4 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice
1 1/2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
1 teaspoon onion powder
2 teaspoon salt
Process all in ingredients in blender, for at least
1 minute until silky smooth. Chill to thicken.water
and almond in a blender until very smooth.
Yields 3 cups.
CURRY POWDER
2 tablespoons ground Fenugreek
seeds
1 tablespoon ground coriander
1 ½ teaspoons ground cardamom
1 ½ teaspoons ground turmeric
½ teaspoon finely ground bay leaf
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon paprika
Mix all ingredients together well. Store
in an airtight container.
Yields 5 tablespoons.
HOMEMADE SOUR CREAM
¾ cup water
2/3 cup sunflower seeds
3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
Process all ingredients in a blender
until very smooth. Adjust water and
seasonings to taste and consistency
desired. Keep refrigerated in an
airtight container. For variation, blend
in tomato and /or avocado for a salad
or sandwich dressing. Yields 1 ¼ cups
or 10 servings.
RANCH -STYLE DRESSING
1 cup mayonnaise of simple Mayonnaise
1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)
1/4 cup water
1 rounded tablespoon of Ranch-style Dressing Mix
Mix all ingredients together in a small bowl and
serve with tossed salad.
RANCH-STYLE DRESSING MIX
1/4 cup onion powder
1 tablespoon celery salt or Vege-Sal
2 tablespoon dried parsley flakes
1 tablespoon poppy seeds
1 tablespoon dill weed
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 teaspoons sweet basil
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 tablespoon of raw sugar
Mix together and store in an airtight container.
Makes 1 cup.
